Air New Zealand Crew Tests Live Translation Google Pixel Ear Buds

This is going to be a big year for automated translation devices. The Waverly Labs Translating Earpiece is now shipping after selling more than $5 million in preorders, and this live trial from Air New Zealand is bringing more attention to a technology that seemed just a few years ago to be science fiction.
As the technology starts to roll out, gain acceptance and be improved, it has the potential to transform everything from business negotiations to online dating. I expect to see many more pilot programs like this one in 2018.

A Short Backstory Of This Blog
This is a blog about non-obvious ideas. Originally launched on the Typepad platform in 2005 as the Influential Marketing blog, the stories at first focused mainly on digital marketing while Rohit worked at Ogilvy Advertising. In 2015 Rohit officially rebranded to the Non-Obvious Insights Blog and published his WSJ bestseller Non-Obvious. For the past twenty one years, this blog has coined new terms, introduced future marketing practices and inspired the next generation of non-obvious thinkers and marketers.
