“God Of War” Director Emotionally Reads Reviews Online

Imagine you spent five years of your life working on a project and finally released it to the world. Then imagine that you could immediately see every anonymous poster's review or criticism of your project posted online. Would you read the comments? More importantly, would you film yourself reading them?

That was exactly what “God of War” director Cory Barlog did, and the results were emotional. The positive reviews of the blockbuster PS4 game brought him to tears. He decided to post the video anyway “to show his son that it's acceptable to cry in front of others.”

In a gaming world where the creators of these rich experiences are often lost in a sea of end credits, it's a great reminder of the humanity of creators. Not to mention a brave lesson in vulnerability and fatherhood too.
