Loom.ai Creates Lifelike 3D Avatars For Anyone

Creating lifelike animations of people has, until now, remained the domain of Hollywood thanks to the cost and resources involved. Now a startup called Loom.ai has launched a platform that creates amazingly realistic avatars from a single still image.

As this technology gets better, it will add a new dimension to virtual reality experiences, and to virtual fictional experiences as well.

The interesting question is not really whether the avatars will become convincing. They will. It is what starts to happen once a convincing version of you can turn up somewhere you have never been.
