My Non-Obvious Graduation Advice For Recent Grads

AELH - Reality
I'm just a few days away from my oldest son graduating from high school, and so I've been thinking a lot about graduation advice. A few years ago, I recorded a series of videos for Georgetown University sharing some of my best advice for grads inspired by my book Always Eat Left Handed. As I rewatched the series, the videos still feel relevant for today:

Decide What You Hate Quickly
Why You Should Unfriend Someone
The Cliché Of Graduation Speeches
Ignore Your Job Description
One Reason To Always Eat Left Handed

This is a blog about non-obvious ideas. Originally launched on the Typepad platform in 2005 as the Influential Marketing blog, the stories at first focused mainly on digital marketing while Rohit worked at Ogilvy Advertising. In 2015 Rohit officially rebranded to the Non-Obvious Insights Blog and published his WSJ bestseller Non-Obvious. For the past twenty one years, this blog has coined new terms, introduced future marketing practices and inspired the next generation of non-obvious thinkers and marketers.
