New Research Inside The Mind Of The Future Consumer In 2021

WGSN just released a white paper on the Future Consumer. The paper predicts the rise of “compressionalists,” consumers who are so time strapped they want you to do the thinking for them.

The report also finds cause for hope, suggesting that among consumers “a growing tide of kindness is pushing back,” perhaps creating more incentive for brands to put purpose over profit.

Those two findings sit awkwardly together, and that tension is the interesting part. The same consumer who wants a brand to do the thinking for them is also the one asking that brand to be kinder.
