The Robot Renaissance Arrives At CES
Regular readers will recognize that “Robot Renaissance” is also one of my trend predictions from my trend report, but it was hard to avoid singling this out based on the fact that there were so many examples at CES of robots with emerging personalities taking on new roles.
From the Jibo personalized robot (which I wrote about in the book) to a copycat product that made it to the CES show floor, to robots with humanlike features, to Kuri the “robot nanny,” the idea that robots could be more than job replacing assembly line bots was routinely on display, and it has broad implications for how we all work and live.

This is a blog about non-obvious ideas. Originally launched on the Typepad platform in 2005 as the Influential Marketing blog, the stories at first focused mainly on digital marketing while Rohit worked at Ogilvy Advertising. In 2015 Rohit officially rebranded to the Non-Obvious Insights Blog and published his WSJ bestseller Non-Obvious. For the past twenty one years, this blog has coined new terms, introduced future marketing practices and inspired the next generation of non-obvious thinkers and marketers.
